BADIA TEDALDA
Located on the top of a hill at 756 metres, Badia Tedalda
was developed out of the settlement of a small Benedictine Abbey,
perched in a strategic position along the road which from the valley
lead to the Alpi della Luna. Located in a green and fascinating
landscape, Badia Tedalda passed to the Florentine Republic in the
15th century and then followed the destiny of Tuscany under the
government of the Medici and Lorena family.

by chestnut trees and preserves some nice terracotta-works by Benedetto
Buglioni, an artist from the Robbia school in Florence. Outside the
centre, in an enchanting position between the forests of Badia, you
find the Santuario della Madonna del Presale, while at Fresciano you
should stop at the Santuario della Madonna delle Grazie, where there
are a small church, an ancient hermitage intact Romanesque bridge.
