PONSACCO

Not far from Pontedera, Ponsacco is famous for the furniture industry, which is the main activity in this lively centre and is underscored by the numerous factories, the permanent fair and the annual furniture fair which is hold between October and November.
Ponsacco preserves some medieval towers and the Oratorio della Madonna della Tosse from its original medieval plant. Close to the modern town lies the Villa Medicea di Camugliano, built in the XVI century by Alessandro de Medici in pure Renaissance. It has a villa-castle architecture, with four embattled towers which surround the main building that faces the spectacular stairway.
