SESTO FIORENTINO

Sesto Fiorentino is an important industrial centre which was founded as a Roman municipality.
The city is famous thanks to the manufacturing of the fine china Ginori di Doccia, a hamlet of Sesto. A Museum (il Museo delle Porcellane di Doccia) documents the famous factory, which was founded in 1737. In Sesto Fiorentino you also find two important Etruscan tombs, the tomb of Montagnola in the park of Villa Manfredi and the second tomb in Villa la Mula. If you want to enjoy the splendid view over Florence you should take the so-called Strada dei Colli Alti which starts at the marvellous village of Colonnata along the Monte Morello.
