CAMPI BISENZIO
Campi Bisenzio is located on the plain between Florence and
Pistoia, in the centre of a very urbanised area characterised by
the dynamic industrial, commercial and service activities.
|
|
| There
are several historical monuments in Campi: the Palazzo Pretorio, the
parish church of Santo Stefano and the fortress Rocca degli Strozzi,
built in the XV century by the powerful Strozzi family and transformed
into a farm in the 17th century, are all worth a visit. Taking the
highway A1, near the exit to Campi Bisenzio, you find the Church of
San Giovanni Battista, more known with the name Chiesa dell'Autostrada
(the highway church), which is a beautiful example of contemporary
architecture by Giovanni Michelucci. |
