MONTERIGGIO e PARANA
These are the two villages where it is a tradition to put
a basket filled with books on you back and to go selling them outside
of Lunigiana. These two villages have their marvellous streets intact,
and the streets are of course named after famous writers and publishers.
Visit the deconsecrated Chiesa di Sant’Apollinare. Montereggio
also hosts the Premio Bancarella (the Book-stall Award) the 2nd
of March every year in the deconsecrated church.
