| Chanted
in the Divine Comedy by Dante, the battle has given Montaperti its
fame. On the top of the hill of Monteapertaccio, from where you can
enjoy a marvellous view over the valley Valle dell'Arabia, a memorial
stone remembers the bloody event. To reach Siena it is possible to
take an alternative itinerary, which touches the castle Castello delle
Quattro Torri. The building, built between the 14th and the 15th century,
has a four-shaped plant with four towers and features a beautiful
courtyard. |
